Pitch Season Starts!
It’s the season of events for startup ideas and businesses this Fall. We posted about the upcoming Women 2.0 Startup Weekend not long ago. There’s the popular Demo conference, TechCrunch 50, and the latest addition, Richard Branson’s “The Perfect Pitch” conference, all of which in some way mix startups, entrepreneurs, investors and innovation (along with mixers, keynotes and what not). Last year’s TechCrunch 50 included three women-founder finalists. New Power Girl and Closet Couture founder Chris Elia presented at the event, which draws some of the most well known faces of the Silicon Valley and beyond. What’s great about events like this is that they can foster some interesting ideas and the weeks surrounding are always full of plenty of news about participating companies and what they offer. A great idea with good execution doesn’t necessarily need to be presented through an event or show to gain the right attention, of course. But, the bevy of pitch and innovation events this time of the year give a look into interesting ideas and entrepreneurs. We’ll be covering all of the women owned projects unveiled as the events go off.
