The New Power Girls (NPG) © is a daily blog that tracks and profiles women startups and existing companies in internet and new media business as well as companies in traditional markets leveraging the internet and media in new ways. Launched in 2009, it's an expansion of the popular series The New Power Girls on the Huffington Post and is part of the transmedia content franchise created my media entrepreneurs Patricia Handschiegel of 9 and Meghan Cleary of Miss Meghan Media. The Women Of Techmeme

Techmeme.com is a site that makes a Power Girls life easier. It takes whatever news or topics are being covered in the media/blogs at any given time and puts them into one place. It’s so great for staying on top of what’s happening without having to do a lot of work. It’s also really well read. Founder Gabe Rivera has been in Business Week and is well liked and connected. But what’s even cooler is that the site tracks some of the best women voices in the business who provide industry news coverage and insight, including Caroline McCarthy of CNET, Jessica Vascellaro of Wall Street Journal, Kara Swisher of All Things D, Liz Gannes of NewTeeVee and both Staci Kramer and Tameka Kee of Paid Content. They’re respected and read among an ocean of male bloggers and journalists in the market, and are great for industry insight. Tameka’s a cool local Power Girl that Meghan and I have brunched with, part of the tech/internet group that works and plays together here in the city. My blog Daily Patricia also sometimes appears on Techmeme, which is always exciting.

The tech/internet industry is full of amazing, smart, cool women. I love it when I see the women bloggers and journalists shaking things up on the web! — Patricia
