Two Incredible Women Entrepreneurs

I came across this article about entrepreneurs in Africa (including two incredible women!) and was just so inspired. We launch businesses in America in such a far different climate. To think about women doing the same in countries where women have few freedoms, war or violence is awesome. I think we have all experienced obstacles, the feeling that you’re facing the impossible, etc. But, here in the United States, you can create a startup for as low as $8 and a Word Press blog. In many other places in the world, that’s not a reality, and beyond that, even harder if you’re a woman. The post also mentions the idea of entrepreneurship and business helping struggling countries as an offset to foreign aid. I love to see empowerment make change and now more than ever, barriers to entry can be lower (with technology, etc.) to make it possible. It’s a great read featuring good entrepreneurs and smart ideas. I loved the way that several of those profiled are tapping American business and leveraging it to create opportunity for people in impoverished parts of the world. — Patricia
